Do not trust the staff, I had straighteners that were left in a room, a staff member put them in safe place but when a family member went to pick them up, they were told the straighteners were no longer in the hotel. After several emails to the hotel, the manger/owner denied all responsibility for his staff's behaviour.

Small, intimate and friendly hotel with lovely rooms and delicious food. Nothing was too difficult for the very approachable staff, including Karen the manageress!

The staff, the hotel public areas beyond reception (ie bar, restaurant) - good ambience and comfortable.
It felt at first as if it was going to be a bit like a travel lodge. But in fact it's much much better than that.

Most staff very good
Manager and owner cannot take constructive criticism and refused to accept that their faulty/cheap ironing board had a rest which was foolishly made of plastic thus melting on to the iron and ruining my shirt. I have never (having stayed in thousands of hotels around the world - from Malaysia to Morocco, from Auckland to Havana, and every town/city in the uk) been faced with such defensiveness, arrogance and ignorance of the basics of customer service They lost £1000 of my business for the sake of £30! If you remember the scary lanlady from the kelloggs commercial then this is where she works! Try the Humber Royal, Millfields, Oaklands or Premier Inn before this one.

Comfortable room, convenient location, friendly staff.
I reported a deficiency in the Fire Instructions. The details specific to the room, the escape route from it, the assembly area &c, had been marked previously but were no longer visible.

The Staff were absolutley lovely, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing and the bar area was very relaxing. Had we not been staying there for a wedding we would have sampled the restaurant as the food looked and smelled gorgeous.
The only thing I found a little uncomfortable was the heat in the rooms, it was very toasty but thats just my personal preference and a few hours with the wondow open cooled it down for me!

This Hotel has a fantastic restaurant, the food was excellent. There is wifi througout and plenty of places to sit and work in the public areas.
There was a small party in the restaurant and the everybody else seemed to get forgotten.
